![]() Spring Clearing for Health![]() Spring, in Ayurvedic medicine, is the season for tonifying the liver and gall bladder. These organs are busy clearing and cleansing the body of what it doesn’t need year round. From time to time they can become overworked, and appreciate a period dedicated solely for them to rest and clear. The shifting warmer weather makes spring an ideal time to complete a cleanse. The sun makes us feel like being active. It shines light on everything in our lives, our belongings, our habits, our thougths, our attitudes, giving us an opportunity to look at them and decide which we value and which we want to discard in the upcoming year, providing space in our lives for the things that truly nourish and heal us. Doing a food cleanse can give us the energy, clarity, and time to look at our lives anew, allowing us to see what we want to change. People often look back at their first healthy cleanse as a time when they made major transitions in their lives. Indiginous peoples often would do a cleanse in their diet with the change of the seasons. It is recommended to do one at least twice a year, with the more intensive one of the year being in the Spring. Call if you are interested in joining us on our cleanse this month. An initial introduction is required, and follow up meetings are included, but optional, as you progress. Indications of need for a cleanse can include: fatigue, increased irritability, colds, joint pain, food cravings, and desire for a change. The cleanse we do here is three weeks and involves eating healthy meals. It provides a full range of nutrition. This includes high quality protein, whole food vitamins and minerals, the most suitable oils for your body, and fresh vegetables and fruits, so that your body is able to heal and strengthen as your digestive system rests and clears. This allows you to feel vital and refreshed, with plenty of energy for a brand new Spring. We look forward to the journey!
